On 1 February 1997, the Court of Justice of the European Communities strengthened its Information Service by giving it the status of a Division. Dominique-Georges Marro was appointed Head of the Press and Information Division.
Dominique-Georges Marro was born in 1958 at Villers-Semeuses, France. A member of the French judiciary, he was formerly Secretary-General in the office of the First President of the Court of Appeal in Versailles, with responsibility for communication, before joining the United Nations in 1995, when he took charge of Judicial Support Services in the Registry of the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia in The Hague, with the rank of Deputy Registrar.
