Library Directorate

The Library of the Court of Justice specialises in EU law. In addition to its rich collection of works on EU law, the Library also has large collections of works in the fields of international law, the law of the Member States of the European Union and of certain non-member States.

It is a resource available to the Members and staff of the Court of Justice and the General Court. However, external visitors may consult the Library’s works, subject to prior authorisation.

The Library’s catalogue is available on the Internet (see link below).

Downloading, copying and, more generally, any use of the content available via links in the catalogue to sites external to the Court must be done in accordance with the terms and conditions of each of those sites; users are requested to consult those terms and conditions. The Court accepts no liability for any incorrect usage of that content by users.

In addition, the Bibliographie courante (monthly list of new acquisitions) is available to the public in .pdf format.

Finally, the Library is also responsible for the publication of the case-law of the Court of Justice and the General Court, in particular by its dissemination on the EUR-Lex and Curia sites.

The Library Directorate comprises two units dealing with the use of the collection and making the collection accessible to users.
