Born 1973; graduated in law (Universities of Tartu and Poitiers); Doctor of Laws (University of Tartu, 2006); Director of the 7th Office of the Consular Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Estonia (1995-96); Director of the Criminal Law Department at the Ministry of Justice (1996-2001); Judge at the Court of Tallinn (2001-02); Judge at the Court of Appeal of Tallinn (2002-06); Judge at the Supreme Court (2006-09); President of the Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court (2010-13); ad hoc Judge at the European Court of Human Rights (2010-16); President of the Supreme Court (2013-19); President of the council responsible for the administration of first-instance and appellate courts (2013-19); President of the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union (2017-19); Visiting Professor and member of the Academic Board of the Faculty of Law of the University of Tartu; founding member of the Estonian Association for Protection of Financial Interests of the European Union;  member of the board of the Constitutional Law Fund at the Estonian Academy for Sciences; member of the Estonian Academic Law Association; author of numerous publications; Advocate General at the Court of Justice since 6 February 2019.
