Council of the European Union, represented by E. Finnegan and R. Szostak, acting as Agents,

and

defendants,

APPLICATION for legal aid,

1        By order of the President of the Seventh Chamber of the General Court of 26 October 2009, Mr Abdulrahim was granted legal aid. Pursuant to point 2 of the operative part of the order, Mr John Jones and Ms Muddassar Arani were appointed as lawyers to act for Mr Abdulrahim.

2        The decision on the amount of the fees and disbursements of the lawyers appointed was reserved. Nevertheless, the limit which lawyers’ disbursements and fees may not, in principle, exceed, was fixed as EUR 10 000.

3        By letter lodged at the Registry of the General Court on 11 March 2010, Mr Henry Miller and Mr Edward Grieves informed the Court that following the change of representation, they were instructed by Mr Abdulrahim to replace Mr Jones and Ms Arani as lawyers representing him in the context of the main proceedings. They applied for a change of representation in respect of legal aid granted.

4        Having regard to the request made by Mr Abdulrahim, it is appropriate to modify the order of the President of the Seventh Chamber of the General Court of 26 October 2009 in so far as it designates Mr Jones and Ms Arani as lawyers instructed to represent Mr Abdulrahim and, pursuant to Article 96(3) of the Rules of Procedure, to designate Mr Miller and Mr Grieves to represent the applicant in Case T-127/09, Abdulrahim v Council and Commission, for the remainder of the proceedings.

5        The present change of representation shall be effective, for the purpose of the legal aid granted, from 11 March 2010, on which date the Court was informed of the said modification. The limit of the legal aid granted (see paragraph 2 above), which lawyers’ disbursements and fees may not, in principle, exceed, is maintained as EUR 10 000 for the proceedings as a whole.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE SEVENTH CHAMBER OF THE GENERAL COURT

hereby orders:

3.      With effect from 11 March 2010, Mr Henry Miller and Mr Edward Grieves are designated as the lawyers instructed to represent Mr Abdulbasit Abdulrahim.
