The Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) lies at the heart of European justice. As the judicial authority of the Union, it works in close collaboration with national jurisdictions of the Member States to ensure the consistent interpretation and application of the EU Treaties and law. Who will be your team?
The Cybersecurity team of the Court of Justice (CJEU) is reporting to the Director of IT. The mission of the team is to protect the Court's assets against cybersecurity threats and to ensure end-to-end data security and protection. The team is responsible for the holistic cybersecurity program covering govern, identify, protect, detect, respond and recover functions. The team is divided into the sections Operations, Risk-Compliance and Solutions.
What will your contribution be?
We are looking for cybersecurity experts in all three sections to strengthen our Cybersecurity team. You will drive secure architecture implementation, ensure risk and compliance management, and/or contribute to operational cyber‑defence:
- Implement, configure and operate technical cybersecurity controls (access management, logging, monitoring, vulnerability scanning, etc.) in line with the Cybersecurity Regulation.
- Monitor systems and networks, detect anomalies and respond to incidents, supporting containment, eradication and recovery of services.
- Identify, assess and remediate vulnerabilities, develop secure configuration baselines and monitor patch‑management activities.
- Support internal risk‑management, governance and compliance, ensuring alignment with the Court’s Cybersecurity policies and the Cybersecurity regulation.
- Collaborate with the IT teams to align security measures with the overall security architecture, integrate requirements into projects and continuously improve controls.
Are you who we are looking for?
Basic qualifications:
- Be a national of one of the Member States of the European Union (EU).
- AD: University studies of at least 3 years attested by a diploma.
- AST: Post-secondary studies attested by a diploma, or secondary education giving access to post-secondary studies with at least 3 years of appropriate professional experience.
- A thorough knowledge of one of the EU’s official languages and a satisfactory knowledge of another. For working reasons, good knowledge of English is Knowledge of French is considered as an advantage. English is mainly essential for collaborating on interinstitutional level, drafting and processing technical documents and French would help coordinating between services.
Desirable qualifications:
- Certifications in cybersecurity or information security (CISSP, CISM, GIAC, ISO27000, SANS, etc.).
- At least 3 years of professional experience in cybersecurity/information security or in information technology with a focus on security technologies.
- Excellent analysis and problem solving skills.
- Very good prioritisation and organisational skills.
