Visit of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Ecuador

On Tuesday 8 September 2026, a delegation from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Ecuador, led by its Vice-President, Karla Andrade Quevedo, visited the Court of Justice of the European Union. They were welcomed by Koen Lenaerts, President of the Court of Justice.

The visit provided an opportunity to strengthen judicial dialogue between the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Ecuador and the Court of Justice of the European Union. It enabled the delegation to gain insight into the structure and functioning of the EU courts and to exchange views on matters of shared interest.

The programme included a meeting with Koen Lenaerts, as well as with María Lourdes Arastey Sahún, President of Chamber at the Court of Justice, and Maciej Szpunar, First Advocate General at the Court of Justice. It concluded with a guided tour of the Court’s buildings.
