Directorate for Buildings and Security

The Directorate for Buildings and Security manages all the Court’s buildings and administrative offices. It oversees building renovation and refurbishment and manages and maintains all the assets. It is also responsible for fire prevention, workplace health and safety, and protecting the Court.

Under the Court’s EMAS policy, the Directorate for Buildings and Security sets, implements and updates the Court’s environment goals.

The Directorate for Buildings and Security provides the Court’s Members, staff, parties involved in a case and visitors with a professional and well-organised working environment. This supports both judicial activities and the smooth functioning of the Court overall. Its tasks include

  • providing Court ushers for hearings
  • tagging and transcribing audio recordings of hearings
  • delivering documents internally and externally
  • handling registered mail
  • supplying furniture, robes, office supplies and technical equipment
  • managing restaurants and cafeterias
  • asset and logistics management
  • maintenance, refurbishment and renovation of buildings

The Directorate is divided into five units, dealing with

  • New works
  • Building management
  • Security
  • Purchasing and inventory
  • General services and moveable equipment
