Upcoming Evolutions to the InfoCuria Search Engine

Advanced interface, including a multi-criteria advance search form, to be released Spring 2026.

On 12 January 2026, the Court of Justice of the European Union launched a new version of its InfoCuria search engine.

It is aimed at general users, providing them with a clear, intuitive, and unified tool for accessing pending cases, decisions and Opinions, as well as the website's editorial content.

To meet the specific needs of legal professionals, a version with an advanced interface via a multi-criteria search form is currently under development and will be available soon. This form will allow for more targeted searches based on the following criteria:

  • Court
  • Case status
  • Case number
  • Case name
  • Text search
  • Date case brought or closed
  • Document type and date
  • Legislation or case-law cited (without a CELEX Number, using a more intuitive method to enter the search term)
  • Source of the question referred for a preliminary ruling
  • Type of procedure and result
  • Language of the case
  • Formation of the Court
  • Judge-Rapporteur
  • Advocate General

This multi-criteria form will be put into production in Spring 2026.

It will later be updated with additional criteria, notably:

  • Subject matter
  • Case-law digest
  • National legal provisions
  • International legal provisions
  • Subsequent national decisions and the date of that decision
  • ECLI number
  • Language of the Opinion
  • Publication in the ECR

In the immediate future, in order to optimise searches with the current version – which includes many improvements and new features – we invite you to consult our FAQ and Search Tips.
