CJEU Annual Press Conference 2026

On Thursday 4 June 2026, the Court of Justice of the European Union hosted its annual press conference at its premises in Luxembourg. The conference was led by Koen Lenaerts, President of the Court of Justice, and Marc van der Woude, President of the General Court.

Representatives of the press attended the event, providing an opportunity for members of the Court to engage with and answer questions from journalists and media professionals.

This year’s theme focused in particular on the rule of law and respect for fundamental rights as key pillars of European integration. The programme also included a review of the Court’s activities and the significant case-law of the Court of Justice and the General Court from the past year (see more in the Year in Review).

The annual press conference forms part of the Court’s continuing efforts to promote transparency and strengthen public understanding of the work of the EU courts.
