European Cybersecurity Month Kick-off Event

The Court of Justice of the European Union will host the Kick-Off event for European Cybersecurity Month (ECSM) on 25 September 2026.

This year’s event, entitled “The Human Compass: navigating the future through cyber awareness”, will focus on geopolitical threats and the human factor in cybersecurity. A series of four panel discussions, featuring high-level speakers from EU institutions, national administrations and industry experts, will covertopics such as

  • addressing current strategic cybersecurity threats
  • emerging cyber threats and current operational responses
  • the human factor in cybersecurity
  • cybersecurity awareness programmes.

An exhibition area will allow participants to get hands on with interactive exhibits and see a number of demonstrations showcasing the latest cybersecurity awareness tools, methodologies and initiatives.

The full-day event will take place at the Court’s premises in Luxembourg and will be livestreamed.

Staff of the EU Institutions, Bodies and Agencies are welcome to attend in person. Registration can be done via EULearn.

About European Cybersecurity Month

Taking place every October since 2012, the ECSM is the European Union’s annual campaign dedicated to promoting cybersecurity among citizens and organisations across Europe. It aims to raise awareness of cybersecurity challenges, provide up-to-date information on online security, and encourage the adoption of good cybersecurity practices.

The ECSM is supported by the European Commission, the EU Member States and hundreds of partners, including public authorities, universities, think tanks, non-governmental organisations, professional associations and private-sector organisations from across Europe and beyond.

Every October in the framework of the ECSM, hundreds of activities are organised throughout Europe, including conferences, workshops, training sessions, webinars, presentations and awareness campaigns, all aimed at promoting digital security and cyber hygiene.

The Kick-Off Event, marking the official launch of ECSM, has taken place every year since 2018, bringing together the various EU institutions, Bodies and Agencies.
