The Directorate for Human Resources is responsible for proposing and implementing the institution's human resources policy in accordance with the legal framework laid down by the Staff Regulations and the Conditions of Employment of Other Servants of the European Union.
The Directorate is composed of four units:
- the Talent Selection unit manages recruitment and selection procedures as well as internal transfers and mobility, provides career advice and is responsible for staff reports, certification and promotion procedures and the traineeship scheme;
- the Working Conditions unit is responsible for occupational health, social assistance, the design and implementation of measures to protect health in the workplace and to promote the well-being of staff; it is also in charge of various measures to facilitate the reconciliation of family and working life (nurseries and childcare facilities, part-time work, parental and family leave, flexitime);
- the Talent Development unit designs and implements the professional training programme covering, in particular, the linguistic, legal, IT and managerial fields and provides support to departments in the process of change;
- the Administration of Entitlements unit determines and pays the pecuniary rights and salaries of Members, officials and other servants of the institution, as well as seconded national experts and trainees.
