Chuir sé tús lena shlí bheatha ghairmiúil sa Chomhairle Stáit (Páras, an Fhrainc) in 1993 mar bhreitheamh faoi oiliúint agus ansin, ó 1996, mar chomhalta sóisearach (go dtí 2008, nuair a ceapadh ag grád an chomhairleora stáit é). Sa cháil sin, bhí sé ina bhreitheamh is rapóirtéir sa Roinn Dlíthíochta go dtí 1997, agus ag an am céanna shuigh sé ar an Roinn Gnóthaí Sóisialta (ó 1996 go 1997). In 1997, chuaigh sé isteach i Maoracht cheantar Yonne (an Fhrainc) mar Ard-Rúnaí, agus bhí sé freagrach as dualgais an fho-Mhaoir ar an gceantar áitiúil Auxerre freisin, ar dhualgais iad a chomhlíon sé go dtí 1999. Ansin chuaigh sé isteach i Maoracht cheantar Savoie (an Fhrainc), mar Ard-Rúnaí agus mar fho-Mhaor ar an gceantar áitiúil Chambéry (an Fhrainc), ó 1999 go 2001.
Mar thoradh ar na dualgais a chomhlíon sé sa Chomhairle Stáit agus sa riarachán poiblí, chuaigh sé isteach i gCúirt Bhreithiúnas na gComhphobal Eorpach, mar rúnaí dlí le breitheamh Jean-Pierre Puissochet, ó 2001 go 2005. Ceapadh é ina bhreitheamh de Bhinse um Sheirbhís Shibhialta an Aontais Eorpaigh ar an 5 Deireadh Fómhair 2005, an lá ar cuireadh an chúirt sin ar bun, agus í nuachruthaithe ag an am. Chomhlíon sé a dhualgais ann go dtí an 6 Deireadh Fómhair 2011, agus mar Uachtarán ar Dhlísheomra idir an 6 Deireadh Fómhair 2008 agus an 6 Deireadh Fómhair 2011.
Athghaireadh chun na Comhairle Stáit é, agus ó 2011 go 2013, bhí an tUasal Gervasoni ina Leas-Uachtarán de chuid an Ochtú Dlísheomra i Roinn na Dlíthíochta.
